Anyone own one of these? Wondering how it preforms both audio and video.

McIntosh MVP891 is the best unit that I could find in its price point. I own the OPPO 95 (the OPPO 83SE before that) and use it for movies only. It isn't even in the same league (or price point). The OPPO sounds horrible for music; very tinny. It is only OK for movies in my opinion. I owned a Marantz UD7006, but it died after one month of ownership. I replaced it with the McIntosh MVP891. It sounds better than the Marantz, and has much better features, such as a layer button on the front bezel and the remote. The only weak point would be the transport mechanism. It makes a bit of a grinding noise sometimes when it spins up. It doesn't seam to cause any trouble, but it is an irritation.

Who agrees that a second hand MVP881 is the best audiophile bang for buck, given that it is the only player apart from A1UDCI amd UD9004 (cloning starts with the A1, the 9004 and 891 are both knockoffs of the Denon) sporting both XLR and 7.1 analog with premium DACs?

In the end it may be that they are all Denon knockoffs.
