Read an online review from a pro/afficionado in this AV field who made the point of its extreme ugliness/cheapness in both box & accompanying remote (stating any design seemed at best an afterthought). He speculated as to whether this alpha model was a short-term means of displaying/advertising the qualities of a product with a plan to (at a later date) be an integrated part of TV sets in the future.

Would be interested to know if this is so in this case....and if (and if so, then how frequently) other such stand alone add-on items as this are introduced into the market with similar intentions.

As a stated vehement opposer of all such image processing/enhancing offerings (having tested so many and found them wanting) he was completely won over by this item (having extensively tested it with everything he could think of).

So I would love to see what this "ugly duckling" (to use his description) could do with my set.

And seeing that for free would be fab......so count me when you start picking out the names!

Cheers.

I see all these entries and people asking to win, but not one explanation or any info at all in regards to what the actual prize is. I find that pretty interesting. But I guess thats just me. Good luck to all and of course MYSELF.

I have been reading about this device and it seems like it would be of more use to enhance standard-def DVDs, if a choice had to be made. I have a Pioneer Elite DV59-AVi DVD player which has an HDMI out, so I'm thinking that is where I would use it. Does the Darblet also pass audio, or not? I use a coax digital connection anyway with this player. Thanks and I would really like to have one of these!
