Sunfire TS sj8 or Outlaw lfm ex?

Thread Starter
So I'm still sub hunting (timeline got delayed due to fedex losing a OPPO i sold and finally approving my claim. but thats another story)

Anyway I was leaning toward getting an outlaw ex, but in my local classifieds soemone is selling a 7 month sold sunfire for $300.

I can't find any real reviews on the sunfire, so asking: anyone have an opinion between these two subs?

Get the Outlaw. The Subfire will be all upper bass, no lower bass. An 8" driver can only do so much, that sub was made to save space, but if you do have the room for a larger sub like the Outlaw, you will get greater performance. Also consider the Hsu VTF3, which is a lot like the Outlaw LFM-1 EX.

I own both a LFM1-EX and a Sunfire True Subwoofer. I can even take a pic of them side-by-side if you'd like.

The Outlaw is a much better sub, IMO than the Sunfire... not even counting that my Sunfire is dead. The Sunfire failures are a common problem, I should mention. I now power my sub with an external amp, but it is no longer in my living room, the Outlaw rules the roost at my home.

And you are looking at the Jr, not even the bigger Sunfire like I have.

Here you go, I couldn't resist. As you can see, the big benefit for the Sunfire sub is size. Mine is the original 10" size, your Jr would be even smaller.

Just had to comment.. WOW! That thing is a monster!

That's a sub I'm considering now, too; it looks so much bigger in context.
(Also looking at the new Power Sound Audio beasts from the ex-SVS guys)
