Question about rear speakers

Question.... do the wireless speakers or wireless transmitters work well for rear speakers? I imagine getting the speakers mounted in the back of the room would be costly to get the wall cut and wire run. So i was thinking the wireless route. also is it ideal to have the speakers about head height or should they be in the ceiling?

Sort of looking at different options. If i have to get the cable run i see they have speakers that sit in the ceiling and have a cover that sits in the ceiling as well.

If it helps I can take pictures of the area to show for reference.

Certain wireless systems work better than others.
Major issues are bandwidth and latency, be aware for the cheapo junkers...

My rear channel is just a pair of Monoprice in-ceiling speakers. Not ideal, but works well enough for the job at hand.

Working with sheet rock is actually pretty simple, as long as you take some care to do a good job. (Measure twice, cut once, etc...) useful skill for pretty much any home owner to have, imho. There are definitely jobs I'll leave to the pros, but putting in my speakers and pullign the cable was a job I did myself, since all I had to do was make a couple of holes in discrete locations and then patch it later.

The real issue with "wireless" speakers, imho, is that either they're running on batteries (so likely to go dead in the middle of your movie), or else they need to be connected to power, thus making them not so wireless.

in-wall is easy to do. Pull off the base trim and run the wires along the bottom of the wall then up into the wall cavity. You can run around doors the same way. I installed a couple of AudioSource 5" in-wall for 5.1 in a prior house that worked very well for me.
