I need help in building a TV Stand for living room HT / Game consoles!

My son and daughter broke the doors for my current TV Stand, and then proceeded to spill some type of super sticky drink on it, and now the paint is all messed up. I've been looking for a new TV stand that can hold my DirecTV box, Xbox Slim, PS3, Dune Media player and Onkyo AVR. Furthermore, I want the TV to be mounted. I need the mount to be attached to the TV Stand though since I do not want to mount the TV on the wall since we are renting.

I found several TV stands with TV Mount, but they have little to no space for all of my equipment. So, I was thinking may be someone here has built a TV Stand before, and I wanted to ask for pointers or a blue print . I was also thinking that I could use my existing TV stand and modify it to fit the TV mount.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking of using my existing TV Stand, reinforcing it to add the TV mount bracket and repainting it. I will be buying the necessary parts this weekend, and I am not looking for the necessary TV mount. I've got a 5 year old 50" Samsung Plasma TV, which probably weights approximately 75 LBS. However, I will check on ana-white and ikea. I've Googled about this subject without any good information. That's why I've posted in this forum hoping to find some help. Thanks .

Thank you for providing the ana-white.com website. It was excellent, and I actually found a plan for a TV Stand that will work. I will start this project this weekend since I am off. Thank you again. This forum is excellent!
