if i set the oppo to do all of the decoding, then ran hdmi to the onkyo, is that equivalent to doing the same thing with the analog outs? For anybody with a similiar set up, do you think the oppo dacs are better than the onkyo? The reason i ask is i have a pioneer elite sacd player, that when set to decode sounded better than a denon 3312. However, the onkyo sounds better than the pioneer (its a cheaper elite player). I was planning on using the oppo do do all audio decoding, and basically using the 905 strictly as an amp, so i dont have to worry about hdmi handshakes and 3d. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.
