Energy S10.3 Subwoofer Auto Power Mode Problem

Thread Starter
I just got my Energy S10.3 Subwoofer from Newegg earlier this week. I have it hooked up via the subwoofer out on my Denon 1613 in which I've run the Audyssey setup with the mic positions as such:

............................. FRONT

_______.______4_____________5_______.______

llll....................l......................l....................llll
llll....................l......................l....................llll

.............................. BACK

I absolutely cannot get the Auto power mode to work consistently, so to avoid having to get up and manually flip to to "On", I just leave it there for the majority of the time until I feel like trying Auto again. From what little documented cases there are on this issue online, a few conclusions have been drawn: an internal wiring problem with the amp or send it back under warranty with shipping on my dime.

At an estimated $40 to return ship it back, I don't think that investing 20% of the original cost is worth it without further troubleshooting first.

Can anyone give any insight as to what things I can do to work this out or is better I just suck it up and go through Newegg's warranty?

Thanks!
Karson

FYI, you should be running Audyssey in the following positions:

4 -- 5 -- 6
3 -- 1 -- 2

Re. your sub's auto-on function, it's possible that it's not consistently receiving enough signal from your AVR to trigger it. According to your AVR's speaker set-up menu, what level has Audyssey set the subwoofer to?

This. See what Audyssey set your sub at and raise it if needed. You can always run Audyssey again to see if that helps out your problem.
