hello guys i have denon 1612 and energy classic take 5 and im missing the sub which of the two should work do on my set up? Mostly for movies and daily shows. Thanks.

i have the f12 and i love it but most people here from what i read say the polk is slightly better for music.

i think they might also say that both those subs would probably be too much for the take five. that they would overpower the energys.

im betting most people here would recommend one of these two cheaper subs instead

dayton 1000, 10 inch sub

http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=300-628

or dayton 1200, 12 inch sub

My choice still rest with the Polk at the $200 price range I have has personal experience with that subwoofer versus the Bic H100(similar to F12)

The Dayton is cheaper, you want to save a few bucks take a risk I doubt you'll be disappointed

I've had the BIC v-1220 (down firing, similar - i think - to the f12 which is front?) for about a year and a half.

It rattles my house, is effective for music, but really shines for TV/Movies/Gaming. For <$190 it's a very good unit that you can build/upgrade around (the 10" version is ~155)

just an alternate opinion to those already stated.

good luck, and may your pictures never hang straight again!

Don't you already own a Denon AVR-1612? That's a decent receiver.

I've been looking at the BIC F12 and PSW505 as well. Seems these two subs are interchangeable based off who you ask in these forums. Is this a correct statement?
