Hi guys, I'm new to AVS and fairly new to the community of audiophiles. I joined this forum in hopes of getting some critiques and feedback/recommendation/advice.. etc. on the home theater setup I'm trying to finish.
Before I start, as I said, I'm fairly new to the audio community. Quite frankly, I have no clue to as what dBs, ohms, frequency and all the other audio jargon stands for but I willingly want to learn. I do enjoy movies/music played through quality audio equipment and can appreciate the crisp and clear tones to fully bring out the quality of the track.
However, since I'm just starting out, I don't want to get ahead of myself and go all out since afterall, budget plays an important role in this. So without further ado, here's what I'm going on about. Just recently, I was able to acquire a set of brand new Klipsch Quintet 4-Series Home Theater System for a crazy good price. I've always been fond of Klipsch speakers since I've had two different setups for my computer, but of course, comparing computer setups to home theater systems is like apples and oranges (I assume).
Now I'm looking for a good matching subwoofer for these speakers. Newegg, at the time of this post, has a Klipsch Reference Rd-12 on sale for $300 and I was wondering if this is a good match for my speaker setup. I'm also open to other brands but please try to keep the recommendations at or below the $300 mark. I also would like to know which 3D ready receiver I should be looking at to complete my home theater setup. My budget for both equipment (sub & receiver) is limited to $450-$500.
Once again, I want to thank everyone in advance who contributes and I hope I don't extend my welcome in here. All your time and feedback will be greatly appreciated and I will look into all responses/recommendations.
Kudos,
Jay
