Is the Denon 891 still worthy?

My old receiver is starting to act up, like not sending sound to the surrounds anymore.

I have a boston acoustics 5.1 in a box combo but have bigger matching speakers for the mains. a blu ray player and a HD dish receiver. the display is a 60" sharp, no 3d..

Is the denon 891 still a good receiver at the price they are selling for refurbished? or should I go for something like the 1612 or1712?

edit--- or maybe the 791 would be fine for me

thanks mark

It's better than the 1612, but the 1712 offers the more advanced version of Audyssey MultEQ XT.

The 1912 features the same version of Audyssey as the 891, although adds networking, so you need to choose the model that best meets your requirements.

does the 1712 equal the 891 in sound quality and besides the multEQ XT on the 1712, do they basically have the same dacs and stuff like That?

Based on your speakers, select the model which meets your feature requirements at the lowest price point as although you'll want to upgrade from the 1312, going to MultEQ XT will not likely add much.
