No switched outlet on new receivers... what are some options?

I have a Denon 2808ci and use the switched outlet on the rear to power cooling fans in my av cabinet. I'd like to upgrade to the 2313ci, but there is no switched outlet. Is there a device that can turn on the cooling fans when the receiver is on?

Why not use a Smart outlet strip..
Plug the 2313 into the primary & the other AC outlets turn ON..
Sells for < $35 from Amazon..

The 2313 has a 12V trigger output. If your fans draw less than 150mA at 12V, you could power the fans directly off of that. Failing that, it's not hard to use that 150mA to run a relay and switch larger amounts of power.

This is the easiest solution. You can also get a remote controlled power strip and turn everying on/off with that. It will save you some $ on your electric bill too.

Does this remote outlet strip use ir? If so, I guess I could program my Harmony remote to power it up along with the rest of my gear?

Yes...
That can work..

But I would recommend that you use this..

Plug the AVR into the master outlet, when you turn on the AVR by remote or front panel, the other AC outlets are powered up...
