Need help choosing a subwoofer

I recently started assembling a home theater. I have a Pioneer VSX 820 receiver and two Polk TSI 400 tower speakers, and I'm really itching to buy a sub. Being a student, I'm on a budget of about 200/250 bucks and the room the sub would be in is 16x12. So far, I've been looking at...

Velodyne VX 11
Polk PSW 10, 110, 111
Dayton Audio SUB 1000

I guess I'd like to hear from some more experienced folks out there. A 10" or 12" 100 - 200w would be fine i think.

Cheers

look for a jamo sub 650 or a klipsch rw-12d.

a bit more $ but surely worth the extra coin.

I agree. These are your best bets at around $300. That said if you must stay around your budget, the Energy S10.3 is highly recommend at around $200 when on sale

In the 200-250 range the Polk PSW505 or the Energy S10.3 as stated are great buys. I totally agree the Klipsch is worth the extra cash if/when you catch it on sale. In the future, you can upgrade to duals and two RW12's go a long way.
