I had this same issue. Go into your settings and check the time and date. Most likely it was an hour off like mine. This was a problem a while back with the ps3 netflix app. Hope this helps...

I've got a 60 inch one that's in the range of affected serial numbers. Bought it in October, and it's still working fine, but it feels like a ticking time bomb so I wanted to see about getting it replaced. Called Vizio (855-209-4106), and within 5 minutes the agent had me all set up with a brand new (not reconditioned) unit on the way, and a crew to deliver, set up, and take away my old one.

No hassles, no grief. It may have been a supplier's fault for selling them faulty chips, but Vizio is stepping up to the plate and doing the right thing.

Now THAT'S customer service! Kudos to Vizio.

I'm glad Vizio is taking care of it's customers with faulty TVs. I had no such luck when my Vizio sound-bar started having problems. Only thing they offered was a "discount" on a refurb unit, which cost more than retail price for the same model.

That experience has kept me from buying any more Vizio products, especially this TV, after reading about all the problems still being reported, many months since it was released.

Is there a bunch of other people having the same problem within a specific serial number range? If not, and your out of warranty period, that's how it works.

Greetings. I recently purchased the 60" and it's going well. I wanted to try playing a PC game off it for s&g, so I hooked it up to my PC (ati 6950) with an hdmi cable, and set it as the lone display. I had no problem using my PC until I tried to launch a game, at which point my PC would completely freeze. I tried several games. I had switched it to gaming mode so that's not the problem. Any ideas?

Bought at Costco in Dec

Should I call Vizio? or just take it to Costco for a replacement?
My wifey will not be happy without her big TV (me either!)

Be a lot quicker to go back to Costco.
schex if it were me I'd just take it back to Costco. You'll be without a TV only for the time it takes to exchange it. That is as long as you can get a TV outside of the affected serial numbers which I assume wouldn't be a problem at Costco since I think they (Costco specifically) pulled all of them from their stock. I was just thinking about this thread the other day and thought we'd finally made it out of the woods as far as BSOD. Looks like that's not the case. My Black Friday TV is still going great. I kind of feel like vizbar though. Just waiting for it to go dark. But I'm not giving up the extra year warranty and turning in a functioning set. If it goes. It goes. If not then......
I think your both right. I guess Vizio will find out about it anyway.
Didn't think it would get me but haha who does?
My #'s were just inside the recall if I remember correctly - ?

Anyone having issues with the Hulu app on this tv? Other video streaming apps are working fine but the Hulu app stutters sometimes.

Are you sure you are getting a new tv? I was told their policy was to replace only tv's with a new one if the owner only had owned it less then 90 days.......

Went to Costco last night. Still had original box but could not find the receipt (not like me)
I had bought it for Christmas for us and the first clerk said
"oh sorry you are out of your 90 days, you have to (go home and) call the concierge service"
Standing there with a huge box, and my wife who helped me get it down the stairs, in the car etc. I wasn't happy.
I told her there had been a recall and could I speak with a manager.
Explained it to her and told her about the recalled models etc. they all huddled at a computer and she came back and said, we will take it. wheeew!!
Picked up a LFTRNWAN50 26110, the whole stack they had were all the same.
Is this a 2013 model week 50??
Think I answered my own question with this from an earlier post
https://vizio.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/962/kw/special%20bulletin

Any reason this unit is somehow "not as good" as a newer WAP model???
Just ordered a WAP model at Best Buy to pick up Saturday. I take it that this is supposed to be amoung the good batch?

No, it's actually a 2012 Week 50 model, December 10 to December 16 (I'm sure you meant 2012)...

2013 models have SN WAP, e.g WAP01 (first week of January 2013).

I have a WAN50 that I purchased at my local Best Buy on December 27 (going on four months), and have had NO ISSUES whatsoever and couldn't be happier if I had spent $2000 or more for one of those other "high end" brands. The color and sharpness are suburb, and I've had no technical issues at all. The only thing to mention is a bit of the lip-sync that was immediately resolved once my Firmware updated from 1.1.4 to 1.1.5 within a couple days of setup.

Go to Menu>Help>System Info and verify your Firmware version is 1.1.5. If not, it should update at some point when you power on your set.

I'm just a bit perplexed that the WAN50, or any sets going back to that "era", are still being sold when I would have thought the stock from that time would already have been depleted and anyone purchasing a new set would find something at least in the WAP (2013) generation. Probably not a big deal and, considering the outstanding performance of my own WAN50, wouldn't consider this any kind of setback.

Enjoy!

Why would you need your receipt at Costco? if you bought it at Costco, they can find out exactly when it was purchased using your membership ID. Odd....

That's quite different than Home Theater Mag's settings but I'll give them a try, thanks!

Let's see how they look on yours, keeping in mind my admonition as stated in that post:

"I believe settings "shared" from one set to another might be subjected to certain influences according to the "electronic variations" and component tolerances within each set."

and I do believe this to be true and explains why you may (or may not) need to further tweak these to your own liking. So anyone's settings could be used as a "base", a starting point.

I had mentioned in a follow-up post to that one that the only change I've made since then, and simply a personal preference, was changing the Brightness setting from 45 to 40 giving me richer colors and darker blacks.

Yes, everyones eyes are different, and everyones display is slightly different, as well as everyones visual preferences.

Anyway, I've made a spreadsheet of all the settings from here, with the Home Theater and cnet settings. I'm still fiddling with my settings so I haven't put anything in it yet for myself.

I made it in OpenOffice, so I would hope it opens in anything.

Nice job!

It opened ok for me in Windows Explorer> Excel.

Interesting to see just how diversified the settings are from one user to another, almost inexplicable except for my appraisal of internal differences between sets.

Wow! the numbers are all over the place! Coming from a Panasonic plasma with guru recommended settings I was amazed at my son in laws' Vizio. I'm trying for more "pop" and "wow" factor without overly cartoonish, over saturation or just plain wrong skin tone etc. I'll have it tomorrow night an try some of these settings.smile.gif

One of the most awesome blu ray players on the planet. I'm big into music so the 105 was for me. Their 103 looks just as good, just doesn't have the rot rod analog section.

Not really. Some people like different things. I think everyone here dislikes the CNET settings, but the people at CNET must like them.

Some people like colors that are very vivid, some don't.

Some people like very bright displays, some people don't

It's like one of the bosses at work. He always sets his displays to 1024 by 768*. It doesn't matter that the native resolution for all the office displays is 1920 by 1080. He thinks that a bigger display should display things bigger!

SC

*How do I get XP to realize the display is 16 by 9, and not 4 by 3?
