So does anyone else continue to have lip sync issues after the 1.1.5 update? I have a very simple setup and still see lip sync issues all the time. I just have a Tivo Premier XL plugged into HDMI 2. I just use the speakers built into the TV. Before 1.1.5, I would sometimes see the lip sync issue but it seemed to clear up when I changed the channel. Now changing the channel doesn't seem to impact my current problem. I love this TV other than this, but it's getting kind of annoying. Not sure what to do. I do have a serial number WAN46, so I am in the range of impacted TVs for the black screen issue. However, since I have a two year warrantee now, I was planning on just keeping this set and only exchanging it if it dies. Is there any evidence that the newer TVs have anything that would make lip sync better than my older set?

Why would Vizio send a tech to you and you have no problems with your TV? Did you request this?

Those owners of TV's in the bad chip SN# range have a choice according to the special bulletin " affected users can have their units repaired or replaced free of charge".

My TV has a serial number WAN43, had it six months now and used way over 500 hours..never had a problem yet works great. If future problem within next 1.5 years I'll call up for a new replacement.

Well I plan to have my tv longer than 2 years so I requested they service my television. Many people in this thread have said they called up and requested a new television before there tv had an issue. I was just letting everyone know that the person I talked with wouldn't give me the option of a replacement television but rather send a technician. Looking at the back of the television I don't see how the thing is even that serviceable unless you take the entire back off which makes me more hesitant about having it serviced versus getting a replacement television.

IC..Vizio didn't give you that option. I did read some where it stated if there is a Vizio TV tech in your area that's what Vizio does sends out the repair guy...but if not happy with repair you call back again and ask for replacement. Those who don't have a Vizio tech in their area get a replacement from what I read some where online.

I had to edit my last post I have a WAN 43 not a WAN 48.

Like they said..not all are bad in that serial number range..guess I'm lucky my TV is good, old saying if the TV works fine after three months should be good for years to come.

I think the replacement policy is for a bad panel, anything less gets you a technician.

So here I am, updating my continuing saga. I had a scheduled appointment for my new TV today. Range of hours were from 12-4, they never showed up. I get a call at 5:30 saying, "Hey, we need to reschedule. Is NEXT THURSDAY OK?" Really? 1 Extra week? I told them point blank that I'm seriously unhappy right now, and if you were given a 4 hour time window to deliver this thing. If there were any problems, a phone call to any of the 2 phone numbers I provided, or even an email would have been nice just saying, hey, we're not going to make it. Instead, you decide to call me an hour and half after the scheduled appointment and tell me you need to reschedule for NEXT WEEK? Yeah, you can expect a bill for hours missed from work.

Sorry, had to vent, and I feel bad for the CS guy. It's really not his fault, but a month to ship is unacceptable. I've had items coming from Hong Kong take less time.

Was wondering if it's possible to to replace the built-in NTSC tuner with a PAL one. Any thoughts or help on this would be much appreciated. I've been trying to figure out the model of the tuner but haven't had any luck. Thank you guys.

I doubt it. I think you would be better off with a PAL STB of some sort.

I really like this TV I have been happy ever since I got my replacement one, however I noticed that my TV has a good amount of noise/grain especially on blacks, does anyone else have this issue? I am running hdmi from my cable box which is Motorola to my tv I also notice it when I play blu rays on my ps3. Any insight is appreciated

I have noticed the "black grain" more on Netflix. I guess it's the frame rate. When I noticed it while watching regular TV I checked my settings and for some reason everything under advanced picture was on. Just double check and make sure all that crap is turned off. Once I went in and turned all the advance stuff off it improved a lot.

Can someone here summarize what the issue with this TV is?

My Google-Fu is not working well and I keep getting single entries and not enough of a clear picture to know what the replacement tv entries in this thread are about.

My family bought one back when it was on sale at Sams club in the holiday season. The only issue they are experiencing right now is that the apps have issues with connecting despite a solid Wifi and high speed connection (laptops and other devices in the same room work well)

Gonna try to restate my question - still can't get this to work

I have one HDMI hooked to the Vizio from my receiver - everything else hooked to receiver = NO problems

When I tried to use the internet apps (Pandora etc) I got no sound from receiver

Hooked a digital optical cable from Vizio to receiver and still get no sound????

Receiver Pio VSX 1020-k has auto audio and should pick up sound as follows - 1-hdmi 2- digital 3- composite

What gives?? surely someone has this hookup! help!

I just picked up a Vizio E601i-A3 from Costco today.. I was at first considering the samsung F8500, but being as I already own 2 plasmas and am
not terribly thrilled about some aspects of their PQ, or having to worry about IR, and deal with excess buzzing, etc, i decided to try an led tv.. I really like the PQ on this Vizio, especially
on bright scenes.. I found the "football" picture mode, (but tweaked) to have a nice all around picture.. I have to admit that, my eyes are hurting a bit, since im not used
to such a bright picture. lol

Wow, hard to believe, I've had my '39' for 7 months and three days. The first week of production was 38 so mine is the second week. It really hasn't caused any serious issues, it's popped a couple of times when the computer gets locked up (always when using VIA apps). The remote stopped working once but somehow a reset fixed that. That's really it. I got the 70 inch version in January so I split time with that one. I will say I can't achieve the same clarity on the 70 that I get on the 60.

I will continue to be a Vizio customer until they give me a reason not to, great TVs and great service. biggrin.gif
