Sorry, I think I got lucky. I was prepared to go the Amazon route (lightning deal at 8:29 PM EST tonight), even though I knew my chances were thin of getting one.
I received an alert on my iPhone stating that BF deals were now available. I immediately went to WALMART on my phone app and went to the item, only to be disapointed that it was listed OUT OF STOCK.
I decided to check online using my PC, and had the same issue. Just as I was going to leave my PC to go cook our turkey, I checked online one last time and it was available at the sale price.
I got lucky. I did get the confirmation email for my order, but I won't be comfortable until I get the shipping confirmation email. Maybe it was a temporary thing, or an error?

There is no way I would have gone to Walmart tonight, so I would have paid full price on Amazon tomorrow. Happy shopping.

Hmmm, I thought this was a "in-store" ONLY deal ???
And it starts at 10pm tonight!

I just read in the discussion forum at Amazon that it seems Walmart is making it available online 5 minutes per hour. Keep refreshing.

Well slap me sideways, Amazon came through and made it a Lightning Deal. Gotta love that place.

I will be taking mine back to Wal-mart this week. Can't stand the 15-18 seconds for the picture to come on. Bought a LG 7200.

Well I sent my daughter to Walmart at 6:00 since I'm at work all day. They were doing a ticket deal and passed out the tickets for the available TV's and she is 14 of 15 available so it looks like I got one. She has to stand in line to keep her place so she still has two and a half hours to stand there. I would feel sorry for her but she lives for stuff like that.

No i dont think so, im pretty sure the one optical cable from tv to the soundbar would do the same thing. all sound will go through the soundbar.

HDMI input is nice for sound, but like I read you will hear a difference in audio on 7.1 systems as optical cables do not support 7.1 systems.

I rather buy at the store to reduce issues of returning the unit if i do not like it. But for a simple setup 2.1 - the M series will suit me just fine. I don't understand why Vizio doesn't offer the VHT anymore.

I am #1 on the waitlist. What exactly does that mean? Any chance of actually getting one or should I move on to plan B and go ahead and purchase the 65" I have held for me at Walmart? They literally were sold out in a fraction of a second. I would venture a guess that only automated purchases were successful at getting one.

Really doubt anyone who got one is not going to complete the sale, but their connection could drop out and you are in the first slot, so at least there is a slim to none chance. Good Luck.

When someone adds the Lightning Deal to their cart on Amazon, they must checkout within 15 minutes or else their "ticket" expires and it transfers over to the first people on the Waitlist

It just popped up that I could add it to my cart and I purchased it! Got the confirmation and everything. It'll be shipped by the 28th! WAHOOOO!!!!!

That is really what Amazon should do, random black Friday pricing. The really great deals on Amazon are mostly won by professional snipers, near the Amazon server with super fast connections. The average shopper really has a very low chance and it is really a waste of time.

This TV is worth regular price of $1k. $688 is a steal. I got the low price too so pretty damned happy right now. It's an excellent set.

I noticed that too. Curious way to spend your time but... takes all kinds I guess! I checked out the LG 55LM7600. Very nice set. Still quite happy to have the Vizio instead. Football has been a real joy to watch today- this set is great for sports! Shame the damn Jets couldn't be arsed to show up for this last one.

I don't think anyone is expecting a picture on par with even the mid level name brand plasma or LCD, but for $688 many will overlook it shortcomings. For the price it would make a nice second TV for the kids or rec room.

That's the same clown that pretended to have a yellow vette, I would wager he doesn't own either the vette or the Vizio. Just trying to make someone as miserable as he is.
