12v trigger for URC MX1200 based setup

Hello:

I use an URC mx1200 remote (that I programmed myself) and my very happy with it.

I recently added a Mcintosh MC452 power amplifier to my setup but my pre-amp which is a Linn Akurate DSM does not have any triggers.

Can I buy anything that will let me send an IR signal to a 12v trigger?

This device would do the trick. You need a 12VDC source to power it, and that same 12V source could be wired to one of the relay poles to provide your 12V out.

Unfortunately, unless you can find the IR codes for it ( remotecentral.com might have them ) you'll also have to buy their 'remote' so you can teach the codes to your URC.

A little over $200 for both of them.

If you're not afraid of a little soldering, this would do the trick for $19. You would still need a 12VDC wall wart to power it, and provide the 12V to one of the relay poles to create your switchable 12V out.
