Center speaker for Vandersteen 1C

Greetings,
I recently was given a pair of vandersteen 1C speakers and I want to see if it would make sense to find matching speakers to create a 5.1 system. I currently have an Orb setup which works fine but an upgrade, especially for front+center would be great.
Any recommendations are much appreciated.

I would let receiver create a virtual one and see how that works. That is what I did for my Audes speakers and it seems to work fine - perfect tonal match smile.gif

For true diehards, identical LCR speakers are always the way to go. You'll get a perfect tonal match across the soundstage that way. The whole reason center channels were developed to be installed on their sides is because it's not always practical to have a floor standing speaker below the TV or screen.

Avoid creating a "virtual center" at all costs. Your center speaker handles almost all of the dialogue during a movie. Save the mains for what they're intended.

So where does that leave me?
I can't get a 3rd vandersteen and put it on it's side.....
I know, and I agree that tonal consistency across the front is hugely important. Is the best solution to get rid of the Vandersteens and get a good (front) speaker setup?

That's what I figured. I like them so I'll use them in a different room.
Thanks for the feedback.
