Acoustic treatment

I have some heavy rubber matting that weighs approx 26oz per square foot. It is approx 3/8" thick and heavily ribbed both front and back of the mat. I have enough to cover the lower wall of a 20'x14' room from the floor up to 4'. Is it possible I could use this as a wall treatment to reduce reflected sound? Thoughts?

Don't think that will help. Rubber is good for damping and adding mass, both good for isolation, not acoustics. Reducing in-room reflections you need absorption...

Thanks. Was worth a shot. I originally had an idea to use it as some sort of base trap. Well, back to my original idea.
