Lip sync has been an issue going back to the analog broadcast days because my wife can read lips a lot of the time & she really notices the problem. Getting a big screen HDTV years ago made the problem more noticeable - bigger screen = bigger lip movements.
This justified the purchase of an Onkyo A/V receiver several years ago in order to adjust the audio delay, & this works most of the time. But it’s cumbersome. On the remote you have to hold the appropriate video input button for 5 seconds & then adjust the audio delay. Meanwhile you have to keep pausing the program and/or jumping back & re-watching the same scene in hopes of getting the delay right. I did look at a current Onkyo model’s online manual but it was difficult to figure out how it’s delay functioned.
It would be nice to have an A/V receiver where the audio could be delayed (or advanced) directly & immediately with a simple push of a button.
Does such a receiver exist?
