Can amps be mounted sideways?

Hello,

I have an Adcom GFA-535 (on order). Is there any issue with moutning it on its side?

I thinking about strapping it to a desk to give me easy access to it and improve cabling options.

Since it's convection cooled, with holes in the "top", it may need to have some fans added to keep it cool.

Do you trust the mounting of heavy transformers and other components to hang vertically permanently?

I am sure its not ideal, but I had no choice in the matter, I have had a Denon POAT10 THX power amp on its side, it was 8 years old when I got it on EBAY, and it has been working OK on its side for 4 years since.
