Hi.

I have this old Aiwa System which powers a dolby 5.1 speaker set with Subs on each main speaker.

I wish to use the 2 main speakers separately for small / medium party's etc until i get myself a proper PA System. They are more than loud enough and sound awesome!

But i'm having trouble working out which amp would power them. As i don't wanna be carrying the stereo about, its bloody heavy.

I need an amp that has the same connections as this on it. Pics below.

So the main output is 6 ohms and powers the Main / Subwoofer........ and the high frequency output which i imagine drives the tweeters on the same speaker, is 8 ohms.

Can this be done. I'm being told its not possible by some people and only the aiwa system can power the speakers.

Just to note, the 2 mains speakers have the standard cord on them plus the phono / RCA plug, for the highs.
