The sale is in their printed and online weekly ad page. As long as you're in the 30 day (60 if reward zone premier silver) window just take your receipt to customer service. It's loaded in their system so they'll just scan your receipt and give you your $100 back.

Couldn't get Dredd to recognize 3D even when I unplugged the TV from the switcher. Think I need a better switcher.

There seems to be no better switcher...

Sony tech said to buy a Receiver with HDMI switching...

I have ordered a manual switch , I think as it has NO electronics it will fill in for plugging and unplugging the cables.

NOTE do not believe the part about Hot Swapping...

Here is one:

In my case $200.00, mine was $1599.00 full retail. So $1399.00 from $1599.00 = $200.00

Again WHAAHOO

I'm there with you. It was 1499 when I bought it in early December, $100 then, $100 now. :-)

You can't get a 90" + 3D TV for nowhere near this price. Hell, you'd be hard pressed to find a 65" for $1399!

You might be right. The one I got was supposed to be powerful enough to boost the signal to two devices simultaneously. mad.gif Guess not.

I tried a line booster and again a switcher that will handle 60 feet..no good, in fact only one switcher works BUT it has only one outlet and three inputs...

It is Ultra High Performance 3 port switcher I bought from Fry's.

No brand name just HDMI Switcher..

A word of warning about the SAMSUNG Smart TV 3D Glasses SSG-4100GB classes.

The do work with the Epson 3020. (and I bet on the other RF models)

BUT A) They are not clip on to fit onto your own glasses.

B) Your total SOL if you break or lose a Temple, Samsung has NO REPLACEMENT Temples, no way no how.

C) The above is likely as these DO NOT fold like normal glasses so you either leave them assembled and laying around or risk braking or losing a temple.

D) IF still in warrantee they will replace the whole pair of Glasses, but do not say you lost a part, they consider that customer mishandling.

E) They are a little smaller than the Epson glasses and do not seem to fit over my personal glasses as nice.

Last anyone that has a dead. Or broken pair, …Say Buddy can you spare a temple of a fellow 3D viewer ??

Like if yours go bad and you get a replacement set please mail me the temples?

Thanks for all the replies about 3D glasses and ceiling mounts.

In my current setup i don't have 3D and i use an HTPC as my video source. I do have a 3D capable blu-ray drive and 3D capable playback software in my HTPC but the video card is not 3D but does have an HDMI out. DO i need a 3D capable video card so the 3020 can play 3D? Is it better to have a stand alone 3D blu-ray player?

Thanks again!

I just started a thread on the 3D section..about that..

I can copy Side by Side 3d movies off Cox, BUT when I tried to play them back I can clearly see the two pictures BUT when I ingage the 3D SBS setting I get trriple pictures...
So I am hoping someone will help.

Currently I can watch 3D on a Sony 3D player (IF I plug the HDMI directly into the player0 and SBS on my Cox Box.

IT WORKS

I just got in my new Manual (No Electronics) two way switch and I am watching Cars 2 3D.

And with the switch I can then switch back to the remote controlled switcher for normal play beck.

One trick, as it is not electronic I switched the plugs, the output is now the input FROM my DVD and the two inputs are now my two OUTPUTS one to the Projector and the OTHER to the switcher.

Rich

PS ONE CATCH, I will need another two way to switch back to the switcher on the other side of the first switcher...

It works as it passed Cars 2 3D to the projector...and I was able to switch the DVD back to my TV with the electronic switcher.. but I need another 3 way to allow switching the projector back to the electronic switcher...so 2 3way switches to bypass the electronic switcher to get 3D to the projector and then both switches thrown will return control to the electronic switcher.

Follow all of that??

So I just ordered a second switch, as the first one did indeed pass 3D to the projector.

I will provide a drawing shortly.

And again warning..all your devices may have to be turned off to let this switching happen safely and in some cases even unplugged for a couple of minutes so the line voltage can die down.

Copy at your own risk.

Someone posted a while back about the distance the mounting holes are? I just went to my local best buy and measured the display unit. (I'm assuming it's correct since it's the shell of the unit?) if you measure diagonal the 4 holes are approximately 13 and 1/2 inchs apart. There is a 5th hole near the front. I measured that at 11 inches diagonal from the 2 rear holes.

I bought a universal ceiling mount that has adjustable arms.

Don't have one yet....going to take advantage of the best buy price tomorrow and pick one up! biggrin.gif

Picked up the Best Buy deal today. Even with the sales tax it was still a better deal than Amazon. I also picked up the 100" Elite screen, it was $100 less than on Amazon also. Just about can't wait to get everything installed!

Any ideas on the best way to test it? Is focus something you eyeball? This is my first projector so I'm not sure.

I noticed this as well. When using the pattern to focus, the 3020 is simply not as sharp as the 8350. I am assuming this has something to do with the 3D... I find 2D movies not as sharp... perhaps it is the lcd alignment. Strangely enough text during 3D movies is amazing but text in 1080p mode from my computer is a bit smushy.

Anyone know how to fix this?

AND about those Samsung SSG-4100GB glasses - are you SURE they work, and is the 3D picture quality the same? I am doing a theater show and need about 100 pairs! Gotta find a place to buy bulk.

A) who said they were clip ons?

E) I don't see how they could *not* fit. They are open on the sides and bottom so you shouldn't have to worry about the size of your glasses' frames fitting inside (like I have to with the epson lenses) and the arms are so high that they don't compete with my glasses' arms for space around my ears. My glasses are 135mm by 29mm (really narrow) and the sammys fit fine over them. The epsons not so much, even though my lenses are small, they don't fit inside the enclosed epson glasses.

Like everything - don't condemn in a broad stroke because something doesn't work in your particular case. Everyone's glasses are different so some will like the epsons better, some the sammys. :-)

Have you tried it on other 3D films besides Cars 2? My switch works with some, not with others. Wouldn't work at all with Dredd, had to leave projector plugged in by itself with RE:retribution, Underwold: Awakening and a couple of others.

So far i have only Cars 2 and Prometheus and i cannot remember if I tried Prometheus on this switch.

I am bypassing all the electronic switches with Mechanical switches to get a round the problem of ware and tare on the HDMI Plugs...

As watching 3D DVDs will be a rare thing, with 3D from cable and from Online like Yudu and Net Flits filling in for most of my 3D viewing.

Look at my post #342

I agree, I was just reporting MY findings... And I feel it was a fair and honest review, the DO work, but in my case not as well as the Epson, the rest of my review is all true..they DO NOT fold, so either leave them assembled or take them apart and perhaps lose a part.

I called Samsung and that was their reaction, NO parts, no way no how and as I said I had lost it they said that is customer mishandling and my fault go and buy a new pair.

I find the larger Epson glasses fit my glasses better...

Don't mind me. Didn't mean anything by it. I was reading some Amazon reviews of HDMI switches and getting exasperated by all the "DO NOT BUY!!! IT'S A PIECE OF CRAP" comments by people who don't know what they're doing. Not that YOU don't know what you're talking about! biggrin.gif
