Paradigm Studio 20's or 60's?

I posted this in the Paradigm Owners Thread but there are over 800 pages of comments and things get easily lost or overlooked there.

I'm looking to upgrade my home theater system... I'm looking at Studio 20's and Studio 60's. I have an SVS PC-12-NSD subwoofer.
I'm wanting to know which would sound better between the 20's and 60's? Someone mentioned that they read a review that said the 20's sounded better than the 100's.

Do I really need the woofers that the 60's provide given that I already have a sub? Also, I noticed the difference in size of the midrange on the 20's (7 in) and 60's (5-1/2 in), how much of adifference does the size make. I want to get a full range of sound out of my system.

I was able to listen to the 20's and they sounded great. I was not able to listen to the 60's.... the dealer told me that only people with small rooms (those who don't have the room for towers) buy the 20's. I have the room for either. Given the total change in direction as to what speakers I should get, I actually forgot to listen to the 60's, they were in a different room.

Question is, what would be the best (20's or 60's) for a home theater system... I will also be listening to music, but not as much as HT.

Also, what center channel would work best for my setup? The Studio CC-490 or Studio CC-590 ... I'm sure the 590 would be the best, but do I need it?

Thank you all for your suggestions. I was also thinking the 60's but wanted to make sure. I didn't know if I needed the woofers on the 60's since I have a sub. I was also wondering if the sound quality would go down when you consider the size of the bass/midrange drivers. I also agree that towers do add more punch and power.

60's it is then. I also think they are better looking than the Studio 20's

About the center channels.... The Studio CC-490 or Studio CC-590? They have one at the dealer and it was around $1400 and HUGE, not sure what model it was but it was too big for the shelf I have below my Plasma TV, so I'm going to have to go with the smaller $700 center. Though I'm not sure what the model number is, I know there are 3 different sizes though. I'll have to measure my shelf to see which will fit.

Just did some measurements and the Studio CC-490 is just under 12 inches deep, my shelf is only 10 inches... doesn't that suck!!! Oh well, looks like I'll be upgrading my shelf too. If I get a bigger shelf I have enough clearance for either the 490 or 590.

I have an Onkyo TX-SR805 ... think this will be enough power? If not what would you suggest, how much additional power would be ideal?

I ran the calc and these are the results. I used 130 watts for the amplifier power since the specs of my AVR are 130 @ 8ohm

Just the 2 tower speakers in my room = 109.5 dB SPL at listening postion
The 2 towers and the CC-490= 110.2 dB SPL at listening postion
The 2 towers and the CC-590= 111.2 dB SPL at listening postion

Not sure what to make of those readings.

I went to the dealer today and gave them a down payment on 2 Studio 60's and the CC-490. They suggested the CC-490 because the mids and woofers are the same size as those on the Studio 60's... the 590 has bigger mids and woofers then the 60's have.

I'll be able to pay them off in about a week or so... Also, I went for the Rosewood finish.
Studio 60 = $960 each ($1,199 each retail)
CC-490 = $680 ($799 retail)
and of course = TAX = $189.80

Drew, could you look over the numbers I posted above and tell me what they mean? lol
