I have a Magnavox 513 with the HDMI going out to the TV. The HDMI used to work fine, and then it started intermittently flashing to a blue screen and then going back to working normally. Now it doesn't work at all (the TV indicates there is no signal when I switch to that particular HDMI input). I swapped the HDMI cables between the Magnavox and my Roku, and the Roku worked fine with either cable; so I know it's not the cable. I also tried a hard reset (using the instructions I found here), but that didn't help either. I have the composite out going to another device that is connected to the TV; so I can watch the Magnavox through this other device, but the picture quality isn't very good.
I have the following questions, and if anyone would be kind enough to help me, I would really appreciate it.
1) After the hard reset, is there any part of the set up process that specifically concerns HDMI? I know there is an HDMI button on the remote, but it doesn't seem to do anything.
2) After the HDMI started intermittently not working, I jiggled it without unplugging the Magnavox, which caused the Magnavox to freeze (I fixed it by unplugging it, leaving it unplugged for awhile, and then plugging it back in). The HDMI did work after that before quitting altogether, but could what I did have fried the HDMI connection?
Any suggestions are most welcome. Thanks!
