Question though: How is your soundproofing? I notice you didn't do the room within a room thing. When you turn the sound up is it disturbing to people outside even without the 'room within a room'?
Oh, and what projector are you using?
Thank you very much!
I like the fancy designs of many home theatres, but what always bothered me was the fact that they are so far from viewing the screen.
I felt it took away from the feeling of LARGER then life view we get at the Movie Theatres. So I will save the posters, and popcorn machine for the next room. (The Lobby)
The soundproofing is pretty good. It's not the ROOM Within a ROOM. (Don't forget ventilation).
But this is in the basement of a three level home. And the second floor above is a grand room which is open to the third floor. Where the bedrooms are.
I can play this as loud as I want. And they might hear the odd BASS, or sound. Sometimes thru the vents of the house. But not enough to wake anyone
if i'm doing a double bill feature till 3 o'clock in the morning.
Right now after MUCH testing. I'm using the new EPSON 3020 3D Projector. And although I have had issues which would make
some run from them. The price, and the service of support from EPSON is amazing. So far...so good.
I've tried the OPTOMA HD 33 (RGB/RAINBOW effect drove me nuts)
(Never a DLP for me) (If you can see it, you'll never not see it)
(And if you can't see it. Maybe your guest will)
I tried the Panasonic AE7000 (Brightness and Ghosting Doesn't compare to the EPSON 3020.
For the price of the 3020, and even some that are $1000 more. It's an incredible machine!
Which ever machine you decide. My advice is to make sure the return policy is understood. Some policies require a restocking fee. Cause after so many reviews on the net. Seeing for yourself is believing. And I can totally talk against some reviews.
BUT...BUT...I truly believe that with the new 3D technology, and trying to keep prices down. Some of the quality control, might be suffering. I've exchanged about 4 machines to make sure I get the 100% flawless machine. Over night delivery right to my door.
But I have to drop off the bad unit. But all shipping is paid for. BOTTOM LINE WITH ANYTHING. You pay. Make sure you get what you deserve. (Oh and I'm a nice complainer. I've always gotten farther with being nice when dealing with customer service, then yelling or getting mad. But I make sure I let them know, not to take my calmness as a mistake for someone who isn't extremely upset.)
DON'T GIVE UP. I wanted this project done so fast. But I was patient. And it paid off. Just upgrades from here on in.
Everyone who has a demo in the room. Says pictures sure don't do it justice. The viewing experience is really key.
And everyone enjoys it.
Sorry for the long read, but I just want to make sure I tell you everything I know. iMIKE THEATRE
