This title has stuck in my mind since the forum thread started back in 2011, evidently few people have seen it. I got my Netflix rental and watched it a few nights ago. The movie's director Don Coscarelli is also responsible for Bubba Ho-Tep
and he wrote the screenplay based the comic horror novel written by Jason Pargin. The movie plays like the TV series Supernatural
on acid, literally and there are elements of Army of Darkness
. It's that kind of dark sarcastic humor and surprisingly there is a bit of nudity in the second act. At times the humor is brilliant and at other times falls flat. The movie's CGI looks have had a modest budget, looks cheesy at times but gets the job done. If this is your genre it's worth a look. 6/10.
