Correct! Porn? I guess it would depend on how prudish a person is.
The title translates to The Tit and the Moon
(1994). This film concluded the trilogy by the Spanish director Bigas Luna who passed away earlier this year. The other films were Jamon Jamon
(1992) and Golden Balls
(1993). The director introduced Penelope Cruz to audiences and helped launched the career of Javier Bardem. The films are about eroticism and stereotypical Spanish machismo. Of the three this is the only one I've seen although I plan on seeing the others.
People may not have recognized French actress Mathilda May (Lifeforce
) in the second screenshot. Nine years had passed since her first film and she actually gets to act in this movie doing a fairly respectable job. The film is a male fantasy involving obsessions and fetishes with abundant nudity. It is apparent that the director uses the main character, a boy named Tete, as a stand-in for himself and his obsession with breasts and the milk therein (first screenshot). Is it a mere coincidence that the director's last name Luna translates to Moon?
The film is populated with flawed characters and many of the scenes are over-the-top fantasies. The 9 year old boy (director) provides a coming of age voice-over and some people may find some scenes uneasy viewing. I didn't but I also realize this movie is not for everyone. Foreign films with themes that are far away from Hollywood are always a welcome change. 7/10.Edited by Mr.G - 9/9/13 at 8:21am
