That's the one!

I just read the book. Putting faces to the characters made it easier to follow. When hunting a top-level mole Smiley must proceed obliquely and the narrative runs the same way.

I watched it recently (loved it) and I could spot Gary Oldman even on a 25x25px pic wink.gif

"How about it"? is right! They actually quote The Exorcist: "Take me! Take me!" as if the demon were interested in dopey dads.

Welcome to the game!

Name that movie.

Perhaps another film shot will help:

LEAD Technologies Inc. V1.01

Hint: The Wizard of Oz and The Good Fairy starred in this film.

^^
I watched The Wizard of Oz last night with my wife and I was telling her how I grew up watching all of my parents favorite movies and their favorite actor was Jimmy Stewart...

The second picture gave it away...smile.gif

The Shop Around the Corner in the same year my Father purchased his first car, 1940.
You are correct, sir. The original You've Got Mail and a delightful movie, Lubitsch sets the tale in Budapest (see the signage in the clips). Also starring Jimmy Stewart.

As we first learn in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (the book; I don't think movie mentions it) this is the motto of the Bond family.

Despite the reference in Skyfall, the genealogist says there are many Bonds and he doesn't know where 007's family fits in. James doesn't care; he's just tracking down Blofeld.

That's Sophie Marceau, of course.

Oh, hell. Pitcher's balk. I'll do better next time.

"Twisted Nerve" by Bernard Herrmann, written for the film of that name, reviewed here.

Also occurs in Kill Bill vol 1

The Bond family motto is mentioned in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (movie).

I'm slowly working my way through Bond 50 on Blu-Ray and I just watched OHMSS (on of my favourite books and a pretty good movie too).

I agree that On Her Majesty's Secret Service is a good book and one of the better films.

I have one more Bond to go and then I've seen all of them in the last year or two. I refrain doing "best", "worst", "top-10" lists, but I will probably do a short list of "titles I am most likely to see again in the medium term". I invite all to do the same; maybe we'll start a separate thread.
