When will we see 1080 120Hz?

Any 1080p 120Hz LCD or laser projectors in the pipeline?

It is not possible with HDMI. Only display port or dual link DVI can transmit the resulting high frequency signals. Such projectors exist for professional applications as simulation and virtual reality:

Yeah could honestly care less about hdmi and hope it goes the way of the dodo. DP or DVI would be perfect as this will be used in a triple pj race sim rig off a 7970 lightning.

Right. All manufacturers' are just going to switch from HDMI to DP. Not happening. HDMI will be around for the next 10 years or more.

There are projectors (like the ACER H9500BD) that have an additional DVI port. But it supports only a single link. The same is true for the new Panasonic PT-RZ470. Maybe the current projector chipsets are not capable of handling 1080p@120Hz.

It's possible the OP is talking about display refresh rate and not the originating video signal's frame rate... like the specs. on a flat panel.

Right now, 1080p @ 24 fps is the limit on consumer media. That may change, however, if 4k media hits the market with this push for 48 fps and 60 fps movies.

HDMI, as much as it sucks from a design standpoint, is being revised with somewhat more robust specs for the coming 4k and 8k display craze in 2013.

Yes I am talking about the refresh rate, thanks.

So it's been over a year now, any chance on a 1080p 120Hz LCD or laser projectors hitting the market in 2014?

correct.... HDMI was created with big brother in mind. I don't see it going anywhere anytime soon as it has a lot of backers that want better policing of digital content and accountability.

there is a current thread about a new cheap business projector that does have the dual link capabilities.... I don't remember what its called but I think the title is self explanatory.

Than you want 144hz not 120 right?.... unless your not looking to watch the vast majority of HD material which filmed at 24fps....
