Audio passthrough: XtreamerPro > Denon2312

I am trying to passthrough/bitstream audio from my XTPro to denon to use denon' s DAC to see the difference(and choose the better one). I have hooked up an optical(XTPro manual it says it supports passthrough via optical only) between the two and set the relevant input source in Denon settings. In XTPro I have selected the 'DTS/Dolby TruHD/Bolby D+' in 'Digital Output' option(as instructed by XT manual for audio passthrough).

Questions: On the Denon panel I am seeing the input signal(on the left side of the panel) as 5 channel with dts logo(in case of DTS) lighting on top. Is this what I should see in case of passthrough ? I doubt because this is what I see even if I dont use optical(i.e use HDMI for video/audio both). How do i confirm, its bit-streaming? I don't want the XTPro to decode/process the audio.

If your unit does not support bitstreaming HD audio (DTS-HD MA or TrueHD), you will only see DTS or Dolby regardless of whether it is sent to your receiver via optical or hdmi. Optical cannot carry 5.1/7.1 hi-rez audio signals.

If you have a unit capable of bistreaming HD audio (DTS-HD MA or TrueHD), your display will show DTS or Dolby via optical and DTS HD MA or Dolby TrueHD via hdmi.

If your XT was converting the signal, your display would probably show that the signal is lpcm.
