I am a current owener of a pansoinic 50vt25 and love it, just to small. I am looking to upgrade to either the st50 or pn60e8000. I have been reaserching and found out that the st50 has the panel from last years VT models and gets great reviews, usually best bang for the buck. The samsung also gets outstanding reviews. Oh i could care less about watching 3d content. Has anyone had experience with either of these?

That is not true - the ST50 does not use last year's VT panel. The ST50 panel is all new for 2012 and is completely different than last year's panels. The ST50 is widely regarded as the best bang for the buck this year with picture quality being on a par with last year's VT30.

The E8000 is the competitor to the flagship VT50 which is a few levels up from the ST50.

He must be talking about the ST50 using the VT30's Filter.
