Dual HDMI solution needed

I've got a rather odd requirement that I need some hardware assistance. I need to play two HD movies at the same time on two different HD monitors across the room from each other. They are are talking conversations so the timing needs to be exact. I was hoping to locate a device like an HD media player with the abiity to render two HDMI outbound streams at the flip of an X10 switch or proximity. Any ideas?

Why not try out a HDMI splitter? You can get one from Monoprice.

A couple suggestions:
Use a PC and either start 2 instances of one program, or use a specialized program to play one on each monitor
Find a media player with IP/RS232 control and issue starts at the same time to both
Find BD players with IP/RS232 control and issue starts at the same time to both

i think that there are no Video Cards that support dual hardware acceleration to 2 hdmi
Maybe the latest AMD 7xxx do that but i am not sure.

Nearly all modern videocards can accelerate at least 2 streams simultaneously. This was required to support PiP on Blu-ray and HD-DVD.

I think the new intel HD4000 can simultaneously accelerate 4-5 streams.

You could setup MPC-HC to open each clip in a new player and playback on two different screens. Alternatively use MPC-HC on one screen and WMP on another.

VP2 based nvidia cards could do 2 simultaneous streams at full bitrate. Modern Geforce 600 cards with VP5 can probably playback more at once (with resolutions of upto 4096x4096).

Probably going to need 2 separate video cards to handle the audio.
