any updates when XL9 will be in USA for sale?
It's like 2 months on sale in JP.
Any feedbacks from JP for those? positive or negative sales and etc?

Is it just film on top of existing 2011/12 LCD? or something extra in those XL9 models?

Probably going to have to wait for CES for the final specs for the USA release, but as of now edge-lit and no local dimming in the traditional sense. LG 4K 84" is edge-lit and has 16 zones on the edge that dim, so they can technically call it "local dimming". Sharps's current 80" is full array, but with these new IGZO panels and MothEye glass, a much less powerful back light is needed, so I guess they could lower cost by dropping the full array.

Continuing my Stream of consciousness . The current US 70" version LC-70LE847U specs say it consumes 200W. The specs on the new 70" Moth Eye model LC-70XL9 shows power consumption of 260W. Can we assume from the specs this is full array?
