He might have developed testicular cancer, a la Lance Armstrong, as well. Probably best for his overall health that he stopped. Now, he just needs to cycle a few times and hit the gym - something Arnie knows how to do. He'll be back in shape for this movie.

I was viewing the recent Conan movie with that other guy not too long ago. All I kept thinking is you can find a big looker of a male specimen to do this kind of movie, but there will never be a replacement for Schwarzenegger, in his Hollywood hey-day! He will always have his mark in history as an unrepeatable phenomenon. I don't even expect he could be that good in physicality in a Conan movie now, with his age, but there will always be that persona. I'll always wonder what he could have done with these kinds of remake roles had they come at a timely manner and he was still an actor instead of spending those years as a governor.

I still think Arnold's best non-SF role was in True Lies. He did James Bond better than any of the actors that portrayed Bond. He can play a tough guy without taking his shirt off.

I watched Last Action Hero the other day and it came to my mind that we do not have a star today that can pull that movie off. The fourth wall stuff and the action movie genre are so different now. I didn't have a big deal with the recent Conan, I liked it well enough but I understand why most don't. It's like putting Ryan Gosling in the role of John Rambo.

Arnold just has this arrogance that works for very few. He was/is unique that way and this is why I personally believe he was able to pull of the action films the way he did and why few compared to him. Action stars now are more about what they can physically do and in many cases along with how the camera shifts and angles help them. Not saying I don't like or can't appreciate it but no one is quite as differentiated as Arnold was. To point, who can leave Hollywood for years, go marry a Kennedy, become governor, f-it-all-up and come back to Hollywood as reasonably bankable as anyone else?

Arnie is Arnie, a cornball and a hambone.
Whether or not ya like him is entirely up to you....he isn't for everybody.

I enjoy most of his stuff, he never seems to be taking it too seriously.
Like him in True Lies, Terminators, and Predator in particular.
