Sorry, I looked for a better place to put this but didn't see one.
I borrowed a copy of The Witches of Eastwick on DVD from my library.
Now, please tell me if I am an idiot here.
I put the DVD in my player and the only sound that came out was the band playing. I could not hear voices at all, though I could see people talking at a podium. ( I had never seen the movie, so I didn't know what to expect )..... so I took the DVD out and flipped it over and put it back in..... same thing... same video, same sound, no voices. So then I put in a Batman movie, and of course everything was just fine.....
I brought the disc back to the library and told the librarian of my experience. She said "No problem. We will just send it out to be repaired; this happens all the time."
OK, so I have had a DVD player since when DVD players were $250 for a basic one and have never had this issue. Also, I can't imagine how they could possibly "fix" this. As far as I can tell, the DVD just is missing the voice track.
Am I wrong here?
