Lookin great! I agree with you about that red color. In the picture it looks too bright. I am just loving the rope lights and the sofit design!!

So last night the Mrs worked into the wee hours painting the soffit. She also completed the band above the rope lights so the white band is now grey. Today Vik and I tackled the six columns all of which will get speakers, Two side surrounds, one for each row and the rears. The column design after 6-7 iterations of planning and alternatives ended up being a removable front design. To start, the sides will be black fabric and the fronts a dark grey. Vik has an idea for something special so the fronts may get replaced down the road.

Now a bunch of photos from just about every conceivable angle. If you don't like blue you may want to skip ahead. Soon will will be putting black fabric on the walls.

Well I can say that the wait was worth it. Wow! Looking fantastic! Another good day of progress apparently proved by the pics. The columns look really nice. I was worried how the one by the door would look considering how close it is, but due to the low profile of the column it obviously looks like a non issue. Coming together very nicely to say the least.

You know I must have just skimmed through the first posts when I stumbled on this thread. After seeing that Procella P6V in the column, I sat straight up in my seat and made my way back to the first post for the complete equipment list....

Vik - What processor are you going to use for this 9.2 channel system? Are you also making the investment in the two QSC DSP-322ua needed to make everything run? Is Shawn Byrne doing your calibration? Also, I see on the blueprints that there is a planned masking system for the front screen....are you going with the manual "pop-in" masking panels or the automated Carada masking system with the Seymour frame?

Everything is looking great! Considering the room was a shell four weeks ago, you may be enjoying a movie in your completed theater by Christmas! (very jealous!!)

Thanks for the feedback. I think VIK is down in the theater soaking in the atmosphere from his efforts.

He went with a Seymour curved screen and the manual pop in masking for the sides.

Thanks TmcG. Since the release date of the newer version of the Seaton Catalyst active triamplified surrounds was tentative i became impatient and purchased the P6V for surround duties. For the LCR i did not choose the P6 because i wanted something with the Power of P815 or P860 ( since i sometimes tend to go crazy and listen at extremely high output levels) with a price which fits my budget.

This is when i discovered the Catalyst 12C Internally triamplified 2000 watts each with two 12 inch woofers and 8 inch midrange. after doing a couple of demos i loved how they performed for both movies and music and how they tame even the largest of rooms with ease with amazing clarity and dynamics,( My first Demo was in a 40x30x10 room) More info about them http://www.seaton-sound-forum.com/post/Product-Listing-Availability-Status-and-Pricing-5999687
Again this is way overkill for my space but i wanted to have a lot of headroom.

The processor I am thinking of getting is the Denon 4520CI. Regarding the QSC 322 i would love to have a pair of them and i guess if i do then Shawn may be the person i may have to get to calibrate them since its so complicated. My biggest issue is spreading out my theater budget evenly since i have other things to purchase. I am going for pop out manual masking because i will rarely watch 16:9 content in the theater so i don't see why i need to spend extra for automatic. Hopefully i can get something going by Christmas but i have not yet made up my mind regarding the seats and projector so it may take a while.

Wow...Big is in Indiana...I thought I felt a disturbance in the force. That explains the urges I've had to work on my HT the last week or so... rolleyes.gif You're down in a friend of mines neck of the woods. Interesting timing as well, he's just finishing up his theater that's based a lot on yours. He pulled a lot of his inspiration directly from your setup.

Anywho, just stopped in to say and hey and oggle at this theater. Very cool design.

At one point before i knew Big existed i even contemplated of contacting you to get advice and help to build my theater. Today we did some round over work on the column fronts with a router, made a major run to Lowes for a pile of lumber for the screen wall and to make some two inch furring for the fabric. Then we constructed the MASSIVE, HUGE, RATTLE FREE screen wall as requested. Later we reduced a pile of 2x4s to 2 inch furring.
