Awesome!! But probably a BAD idea to hang the projector, LOL.... biggrin.gif And yes, once you've scoped, there's no point of return! wink.gif

Yep hanging PJ bad idea biggrin.gif I am refraining to hook up the audio untill the carpet and chairs are installed so that is keeping me out of the theater room for the time being.

Finally ended up going to a couple of carpet places today and taking samples. They said it would be a couple of weeks from ordering to installation eek.gif Gotta scout for more later in the week!

Looking good Vik! as comparison I just got back from a week in Manzanillo MX. One night my host put on DVD of Jack Reacher. He gets all these boot leg disks at the Saturday market for $2 a disk. The quality was average from what I've seen at his place in the past, It was an "in theater taping". with Mexican subtitles. Several people in the audience were coughing. At least no one stood up in front of the camera which has happened before. The sound is what you would expect from a single microphone. Occasionally he will get a good copy that is interrupted periodically with a message about the DVD being for academy voting purposes only.

I don't understand this at all - once you have experienced the phenomenal picture and (mainly) sound quality of a good BluRay, I can barely stand going back to DVDs with their lossy audio. How people can download a cam from a theatre and watch it and not be hugely disappointed I don't know.

What bothers me is I can't tell if you are serious in this context.

I'm being serious. I don't even like buying blurays if they are not DTSHDMA or TrueHD encoded. Although that's not always a guarantee of a quality soundtrack.
I can think of many situations where downloading a cam version of a movie to watch would be sufficient - but none of those situations should apply to anyone here smile.gif

Alright MOLE 101

One lunch last week.

It was at a small roadside cafe

Run by a lady named Karmelita

she had 6 tables (she is in the picture)

A four item lunch menu with seasonal spirit

This is chicken mole with rice and beans. It came with a bean wrap (almost gone) chips and fixins. Warm tortillas (on the stove). Soda included $5.47 US.

Mole has a little chocolate and a bunch of other stuff, the tortillas are used to wipe up the sauce, it's that good.

I love me some good mole. And that looks pretty darn good! eek.gif

Ummmmm........I kind of missed the whole mole thing, but if I hadn't I would have posted this.

but since I missed it, I won't. So don't enjoy the video I didn't post when you all were talking about mole.

Hey Vik, you ready for me to help you set up the audio and run a demo yet?

Regards,

RTROSE

That chicken does look delicious.
(not Mexico) but when I spent a few weeks in the states in '11, the one overriding thing that makes me miss the place so damned much is the fact that wherever I went, whatever I ate, it was always delicious (and cheap)
When you come back to Australia with their stupid food safety laws and general distaste for anything that is likely to bring on heart attacks at 25, you really miss that amazing food.
I didn't want to come home... I understand now why so many people try and sneak into the country smile.gif

LMAO you beat me to it! I always think of Austin Powers whenever the world "mole" is brought up. The meal looked pretty good tho Big. When I was there years ago the meals where hit and miss with the small roadside cafes such as this being usually the best.

Hmmmm.........I think there should be some pics of some chairs or at least some chair boxes that need to be posted. Am I correct? Come on man! Get to it! biggrin.gif

Took a quick mobile pic of the chairs in boxes. they are the fusion Jive from Roman. Super nice guy to deal with and super fast delivery with prices way way lower than all the other online theater seat stores. I wont open them untill the carpet is installed so hopefully everything is fine inside since i did not inspect. I took the extended warranty for them. I wanted to purchase the Palliser digital or Indianapolis but my room is width challenged so the next choice was to go with the Jive.

Coming to the carpet its getting delayed like crazy, every person who gives a quote changes the quote after looking at the room and measuring it, and between different companies there is a 100sqft discrepancy in measurement. "Big" warned me to take care of the carpet business early and i should have done that. Hope to find the right guy and place an order this week smile.gif

How much were the chairs?

I'm sure that the estimates change when they see your room. As much as you try to describe what you have it is a major "reality check" when they see the room. That is to be expected. I explained what I had which is relatively simple actually, but whey they were finally encouraged to come out and take a look they saw what I was trying to explain. Yours is a much more complex situation.

You might even want to see if there are any "high level" installers that work on upper scale home in Fishers, Noblesville, and Giest areas that are more comfortable with upscale installs.

RTROSE

Oh, and the pictures of the boxes look great! wink.gif
post #594 of 937
Thanks RT! I will check the other places if things don't work out locally!

Vik, if there is a discrepancy in measurement but you like their carpet and price per sq ft. Keep in mind that everything is negotiable. With your room calculating sq ft is not easy as they have to figure out how to piece everything together with the various levels you have.
Thanks Big. I will try and negotiate! smile.gif

Remember Vik, EVERYTHING is negotiable. Unless you're the Secret Service in South America, then things are not negotiable. eek.gif Never mind. rolleyes.gif

Mrs RTROSE does not check AVS on a regular basis. I think she has actually been on the forum about four times total, so I think I'm safe with my posts. Prices should ALWAYS be settled on BEFORE services are rendered NOT after. biggrin.gif Live and learn. wink.gif

I'm still waiting for that call to help move seats, hook equipment up, and give her a test run. I know, I know. I just have to be patient!

RTROSE
