5.1 Help! $2k budget

I would like some help figuring out a good system for home theater, movies and xbox. I might occasionly play music on it but I don't want to cater for that purpose. I'm mainly interested in a 5.1 set up. Currently, my living room is about 12 ft high and 20 ft. x 15 ft. but I rather not buy a system tailored just for this size, since I'm currently renting and plan on moving into something smaller in the future. I don't want to buy a top of the line system for a crazy price but I do want good quality. I was thinking everything for up to $2k including the reciever if reasonable, and before I found this site, I was seriously considering one of the Bose 5.1 systems, which now I rather want to avoid.

pair of ascend acoustics cmt 340se
cmt340 center
pair of htm 200se for rears $1168

This is a nice setup. You also might look at the speaker/sub packages offered by HSU, such as the the Hybrid 3 5.1.

Another recommendation:
Infinity Primus p363 x 2 = $400
Infinity Primus c351: $200
Infinity Primus p163 x 2 = $170
Hsu VTF3 mk4: $800
Denon AVR 1912: $418

Total: $1988 shipped

Alternatively, check out the hybrid 3 5.1 package from Hsu, which is $1588 and use the above mentioned Denon receiver, that comes out to $2006 shipped.

Thanks, I'm likeing the alternative option with the HSU speakers. I think my biggest concern is buying a system that I haven't heard and trying to compare them with others.
