A Resolution Question from a First Time Projector Buyer...

I'm looking at purchasing either a WUXGA (1920 x 1200) projector or a 2k projector (2048 x 1080). Are there any issues I should be aware of for playing HD material from DirecTV, Blu-ray, or Blu-ray 3D? Should I instead look for a HD projector (1920 x 1080)? Is one resolution better than the others?

There will be others here who can help you with your resolution question but if you want a home theatre projector then ensure that it has good on board video processing. You wont generally get good video processing on presentation projectors. There are lots of variables but you need to consider your viewing environment. Presentation models are designed with high brightness for operation in non darkened rooms and their contrast ratios generally suffer.
