November Playstation Store Update - Page 2

I doubt Sony is going to give any information on which of these games expire and when. My advice would be to assume it's there for a very limited time and act on it now, since you do want to get in on the deal.

We usually see notification of when Plus games (either discounted or free) are set to expire one week or two (at most) before they expire. Just keep checking the section under PS Plus in the Store labelled Last Chance or Expiring Soon (can't remember what they call it now). The PS Blog Store updates also list that info under the Plus offers for that week. This is what it looks like in yesterday's post:
Quote:
Last Chance (Leaving on 12/4)
Instant Game Collection – Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition
Discount – Bejeweled 2 PSP
Discount – Cash Guns Chaos
Discount – Peggle
Discount – Peggle PSP

Discount – Terrover
Discount – Untold Legends: The Warriors Code
Discount – Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade
Discount – Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown Complete Edition
Discount – Hell Yeah! Bundle
Discount – Nights Into Dreams
Discount – Jet Set Radio
Discount – Sonic Adventure 2

So the only free game leaving right now is RE5.

Bioshock 2 is definitely worth playing. I liked it as much as the first, but for different reasons. The Minerva's Den DLC for it is still my all-time favorite DLC I've bought for any game. Hopefully that will go on sale as well.

This is perfect timing for me! I finished playing through Bioshock exactly 10 days ago (part of my initiative to clear my backlog). Bioshock 2 has a spot reserved in the Plus folder on my XMB. What's one more game in the backlog, right? smile.gif

If it wasn't for backlog, I'd be playing both Bioshocks again (and again). And soon many of us will be adding Bioshock Infinite to that backlog.

What's so great about Minerva's den? I've heard it's very different from the main game. And it's a complete side story to the main game, I don't need a save file in it, right? I beat BS2 on 360, but don't have the game anymore.

Minerva's Den is a very good, self-contained story in a different part of Rapture that provides a nice epilogue to the whole Rapture storyline. And, if you explore every room of every level and rescue every little sister and do all the gatherings, it will take 5-6 hours to complete. There's also some new weapons, enemies, and plasmid abilities to try out.

I don't think it requires a completed save file of the main Bioshock 2 story (it creates its own save file just for the DLC), but you do need the main game disk or digital download to play it. So if you have a Plus membership, you'd be set.

EDIT: Confirmed. I loaded my disc on a subaccount that had no BS2 save file on it, and I was able to start a new Minerva's Den playthrough. Now to stop myself from playing it right now when I should be working.biggrin.gif

Sweet, def gonna pick that up then.

The good thing about plus is that they usually offer genuinely good games.

That bad thing about plus is that if a game is good, I'll probably have already played it by the time it comes out free.

I put off buying quantum conundrum for a while, at least waiting for a sale. Even thought to myself, maybe this will be on plus one day. Eventually got bored and bought it, was free on plus the next week.

Good problems to have, I guess. tongue.gif

I agree with Zookster that Minerva's Den is the best DLC I've ever played.
