I have 2 Adcom GCD-700 CD players. I've always loved their sound quality. Recently each of them has been getting erratic in behavior. Both have been in for maintenance a couple of times in the last 2 years. They continue to manifest problems reading disks etc... Is the firmware so outdated as to be malfunctioning? Am I wasting money trying to keep these machines operating?
I prefer the multi-disk format (I listen to a lot of classical music) and the Adcoms seemed to have the best quality of any such players. If I do give-up on my Adcoms, what 5 disk CD player has equivalent sonic quality? Is the Marantz CC4003 sonically solid?.
