2 more 15's? Or captivator?

Hi just wondering what ur guys thought on this would be.

I have 2 psa xv15s so far they do a good job but since i bought them and relized what i was missing i want more smile.gif i guess i got bit by the bug.

Anyways im curious on the thoughts of what to do next 2 more xv15's or do u think a pro captivator? Would it mix well? I would think the major issue would be phase for the difference in subs. I have the xv15's stack now.

My room is 24x28 open to two other rooms so decent size to pressurize.

Any suggestions will be appreciated and im in no hurry to buy since iv only had the 15's for 3 weeks. Drugs would be a cheaper addiction i think.

Well if you're really interested (or just curious) you might consider making the LONG drive up to JTR in Wisconsin for a demo. Jeff is planning a party to celebrate his 6th year in business and that might be a good time to hear the JTR subs.

OTOH, you could just get 2 of the PSA subs and be happy with quads. smile.gif

I'm not familiar with the PSA subs, so I don't know how they compare to JTR products. If I had a room that size opened up to other areas I'd get an Orbit Shifter that is a lot of space. Or, if I could be somewhat close to the sub, I'd get a Captivator or a Cap 2 sealed.

That would be fun to visit jtr but with how much i work i cant even get any day off but who knows i may figure sumthin out. Quads sound fun and so does an 18 smile.gif

Psa is a new company few guys that used to work at svs started.

I would love to have a orbit shifter but id be affraid it wouldnt go with my other subs. Isnt it a horn r am i wrong? And for me close placement is dead center of the room thats only spot open, so prly not best idea right?

Haha, duh.... I knew that I just brain farted. redface.gif Still, I've never heard a PSA sub so I guess my original statement stands.

I don't think 2 more subs will do a ton more for you as far as increasing spl (unless you co-locate subs), the way I understand it, 2 more will do a great job at smoothing frequency response across all viewing areas.

So, my advice is do you want better/smoother frequency response or a lot more spl? You've got a huge room to fill there, good problem to have - must be a nice space.

Since the subs you have are ported (right?) and it sounds like you like them and want to keep them, then yeah a ported Cap would be the way to go I would think. I'm telling you, it's really shocking how powerful and violent that sub is.

That said, all the impressions of psa subs I have seen are very positive too... I'm no help here....smile.gif

Since you have the subs collocate, I think the the problem is you re sitting in a null, try spreading them first then reevaluate.

Yes they r ported. I have moved them around and tryd different setups. I just want more and more haha. I watch alot of movies but on weekends i always have 10-20 ppl over for drinking and music so i guess what i want is the holy crap that just took my breath away feeling smile.gif. Im not picky on how a sub sounds with music by that point to drunk to care. Thanks for all the replys so far guys. Orbit shifter in my future i see hmmm?

I've heard a lot of subs, and the only one that gives me that "took my breath away" feeling is the Orbit Shifter. The chest cavity pressure feel is awesome, and other than car audio the OS is the only way I've experienced it. I've heard dual OS's and it was beyond ridiculous.

Based on your pockets, have you considered going with two (more) PSA XV30s? I'm sure you would get a return customer/ multi sub discount as well.

Dual OS's would be insane. maybe ill save up this winter u have me extremely interested in jtr.

Two xv30s would be sweet and i do get an extra 5% off each sub since id be a returning customer.

Hi nicker1987,

link to JTR forum where you can see OS LFU pictures smile.gif, there is not many pictures you can find on internet. The OS LFU is a great subwoofer if the shipping to Europe would not be so high I would go for two so instead of I have build two Tapped Horns TH_1819 (my design) which are like OS LFUs.

Here are the OS's with the Triple12's on top of great Grammas on top of the subs. Don't have pictures of the current LCR's (Noesis) but they are in essentially the same positions).
