panasonic viera, DLNA question

ok i have a panasonic viera on my wireless network. When i try to play HD movies over it seems to skip. it is streaming from a dekstop comp runnig windows xp pro and serviio media server. brand new belkin router also.

Any tweaks to stop the skipping? do i need to hard wire it in? that would be difficult for me to say the last.

try running Cat-5e or Cat-6 from your router. Your weakest link would be your wifi router, next is the Network adapters in the devices.

Hi Micaaronfl,

Try Greg's suggestion first, as your wireless is the most likely cause. Just run a temporary cable across the floor to test it.

But another potential cause is transcoding. Are you sure the Viera supports HD over DLNA? Many DLNA client implementations don't "directly" support HD, and require the server, Serviio in your case, to transcode down. Often, the server computer's CPU doesn't have enough horsepower, and the result is stuttering.
