2gb ram enough for light gaming, win7, bedroom htpc?

I wanna build a bedrooom pc out of leftover parts..(Athlon x2 5600, Radeon 2600xt 256meg, ECS AM2 mb, 2x1gb Crucial Ballistx DDR2-800 ram). I'd like to do the usual HTPC stuff with some social networking and light 720p gaming thrown in. Just wondering if I should run Win7 or downgrade to XP. My other computers have win7 on them but have more memory. I don't wanna buy any new parts, just make the best out of what I have. Motherboard only has 2 slots so I'd have to buy new 2gb sticks to go up to 4.

Don't downgrade to XP. The Windows 7 OS manages itself a lot better than XP. As for whether 2 GB will be enough for you, that's entirely dependent on the games you want to run. Their required specs will tell you if 2 GB is sufficient enough along with your other HW. As for just the HTPC aspect, I run 2 HTPCs with only 2 GB ram in each without issues.

I don't see you doing much gaming on that machine I would say 4+gb and upgraded video card.

win7 is good, 2gb should be fine, you didnt tell us what games you may play...

The most demanding game I own is Transformers War for Cybertron. The bedroom PC meets the requirements except for video. They don't suggest Radeon 2400-2600 models. I'm thinking the XT model might be able to handle it tho.
