Time for another set-up. Cheap. 3.1. Good looking. 1000,-

My parents old crappy HTIB that they bought for 300 - 400 bucks a few years ago just died. It had those dvd player,av receivers. 6 Disc changer kind of crap hehe


Anyways I want to get them a new set up.


<1000 total.

Has to include:

1x Receiver
2 Fronts
1 Center

Sub later, not needed right away. They don't care for bass.


I was thinking a low budget Denon Receiver <250 dollars.

2x Mythos 6 floor standers and if money is left a DefTech center?


Reason why I chose the above set up is because I have a Denon/Def Tech set up right now and love it, plus the Mythos looks very nice with it's glass stand.


Any other suggestions you guys may have for me? Can't be a bulky set of speakers. Must be as small as possible/slim. Good looking. Visuals first, sound quality 2nd.

The XTRs from Def Tech appear to be the "perfect" speaker for them. It's slim, sleek, and doesn't take too much space but they are very expensive at 700,- a pop. Unless someone knows a place to buy them for cheaper? I bought most of my speakers at Electronics Expo for an amazing deal, but they don't sell the XTRs

I've had the older Pioneers. Way too bulky and look terrible. Sounded ok.

Room size doesn't really matter as they don't care about sound quality much. It's about aesthetics mostly. Plus they don't need a sub right now.
