Entertainment Center with a hidden screen build

I've wanted a projector in the my living room for a long time and I finally convinced my wife to let me get one, but her only condition is that the screen couldn’t be up the whole time. I just finished building this entertainment center this weekend. It houses a 100' EliteScreens EZ Cinema Plus. The last board on the top folds open and the screen is pulled up. I still need to fix the wall where the old LCD TV was and figure something else out with my speakers, but once that’s done and she picks out some wall art I think it will look pretty slick. The projector is an HD66 and the flash is what made the screen look so washed out.

Very cool @m31356. Can you explain in some more details what you did to accomplish this?

Sure, I designed it in Sketchup first to get an accurate material list and estimated price, although I did make some adjustments during construction. Its built from select pine from Home Depot. It has stain and 3 coats of polyurethane on it. The screen already has a scissor lift and gas struts to keep it up so I really didnt have to do anything with it except for remove the hinged lid that came on it. The screen sits in a pocket that is under the last board. So once you flip open the board and pull the screen up.

Looks great - Did you hide the projector too?

Do you have any closeup photos of the pocket, that your screen sits it ?
