Official LG XXLM7200 Thread

LG just put a product information page up on it.

spec-wise, it appears identical from the page...Trumotion 240, LED Plus, Passive 3D Smart TV.

I haven't seen one on display but I crakced open a boxed unit and it would appears the LM7200 is about twice as thick as the 7600, and the bezel is raised from the panel...it's not a single pane/piece like the 7600. I don't think LG makes 60" IPS panels, so the panel is likely not an LG panel.

A) I just got one so stand by for a review
B) LG rep was in-store so I asked her about performance...she said should be near identical to 55" 7600series.
C) I asked why 7200 model number and she explained it had to do with the panel specs...how they keep them organized...she said not as big a difference as 7600 to 8700...
D) also said we won't see a price break until February, 13.

I am in the same boat as the OP. I was going to buy the 60LM7600 after weeks of research and now it is gone from almost all websites for purchase. I personally wanted the thinner panel instead.

I would hate to buy an inferior 7200 series tv for the same price as the 7600.

Anyone know anything about pricing on this 7200 or better yet where I can find a 7600 anymore since best buy has removed it from their site?

Let me know what you find out and how the 7200 performs.

I am very curious if I should just go with the 7200 or find another LED set.

I'm going to keep my eye out on the best buy site to see if it comes back up.

I have a 60LM7200, bought it last Thursday and I'd be happy to answer questions if anyone has them.

how does it compare in overall thickness to the 7600? Also does it get a lot of the flash lighting the 7600 was getting?

Ok.....what made you choose this model over others in the same price range? Also how is screen brightness, clarity, and any lag in images? Do you game with it? 3d movies? Streaming movies?

How are the apps and the web browsing with it?

I just took some pics to show the panel depth, I'll try using the Image insert feature of this forum, but if it doesn't work, I'll link to my Picasa or Flikr. I LOVE the smart features and internet browsing, I already have a Sony Google TV but this one I actually use the Web and Apps because the Magic remote makes everything easy and PC like, the Google TV was horrible with the Web.

The picture is amazing, but sadly being that my other HDTV is a 32 inch (the afformentioned Sony NSX-32GT1,) I really don't have anything to compare it to. My future borther-in-law recently bought a Samsung 60 inch (UN60ES6100FXZA, at BB for $1800) and I think mine is better in picture and sound.

To answer your last question, I bought it from BestBuy. My local store had them in stock!

Ok, honestly, while researching I couldn't find a 60 inch TV with a 240hz refresh-rate for $1700. The LM72 was better than anything else this size for this kind of money, it felt perfect, almost too good to be true until I unboxed it and fired it up.

Also, just started messing around with LG Cloud, and while I think some improvements could be made in the software, the service is awesome

Main panel is 1 inch thick, and the speakers make that 2.5 inches only where the speakers are located. I can provide better pics, just let me know.

Also, screen brightness is great, I haven't had a chance to do more calibrating but I know right off the bat that the energy saving feature makes everything too dark, I stopped using it after one day. There's no lag whatsoever and the images are crystal clear.

I don't do much gaming, but may get an Xbox 360 or PS3 in the future, I haven't played video games since Socom 3 came out, so long time age.

As for the 3d, I watched Avengers and wasn't really blown away, however, I'm not a fan of 3D anyway, so that wasn't a selling point for me. As stated earlier, web was great, but there really aren't that many apps available. If apps are your main thing, this isn't the TV for you, or I don't know how to find them.

It does have Google Maps built in, they look stupid on this size of set, love it.

No, I don't have external audio yet, looking to mount this thing on the wall next week, then I'll see what the best solution would be for my living room.

I too seen it and thought it was to go to be true but this TV is awesome. Bought it last Thursday and was trying to figure out why Best Buy had taken it off their website. Had a 50 inch Samsung but this is way better, my Brother in Law has the 55 inch LG and this BLOWS it away he wont admit it but it does.

No problem, I'm happy to contribute some help. I picked mine up in a minivan, and it fit just fine with the seats folded. The box is huge, my best recommendation would be to keep it upright (the way it would stand on the stand,) then you just have to worry about your SUV being long enough to accommodate the horizontal dimension.

I also bought one last Thursday from BB. Love it so far, dual play is awesome. 3d is good, I wish the remote had an input button, and I haven't found the direct tv remote code yet. The picture is great, and I haven't noticed too much light bleed.

Thanks, I recently bought 55LM7600 from BB and still wondering if I should get this one. LG site says the thickness is 1.7" but your bottom photos show over 2" (almost 3" for the speakers). Am I reading it right? The specs on LG site not reliable, can't believe the stand weighs 24 lbs.

BTW, is the bezel flush with the screen? Other than WiFi display, Windows 7 certification and jacked up dynamic contrast ratio (all of these are useless for me) I can't see any difference in specs.
