Last night my G70 made a loud bang and stopped projecting. It has no power as far as I can tell.
I checked the fuse with a multimeter. It's fine.
I pulled each of the four boards that seem related to power. No puffy/leaking capacitors, burns or any other obvious signs of damage.
For good measure I installed a new fuse and 120V cord today. Still no power.
UPDATE: Found a dead capacitor and bit of scorching on the FAB board.
It's inside of what Curt calls the Main Power Supply 1
On the attached picture you can see that C2102 popped, C2103 and R2101 appear to need replacement as well. Anyone have a schematic or other way of figuring out what their values are? It looks like an easy fix but the caps don't appear to be labelled.
I checked Curt's list of manuals, great stuff but nothing that would tell me what those caps are.
So sages of AVS, I beseech thee: name those caps.
