Sub help, bowers 600 system

Hi,

I have a b&w 600 series set up and just need that final essential piece!

Setup as follows:

Marantz sr5006
Front 685s
Center htm 62
Surrounds 686

I was looking at the asw610 but for the price I've heard there are much more better options,

Can someone please offer some suitable alternatives within the same price range (around $650)

And at least 10"

Thanks in advance,

Check out the SVS SB12-NSD. Here's a review: http://www.audioholics.com/reviews/speakers/subwoofers/sb12-nsd-subwoofer. It's a compact 12" sealed sub with very good sound.

If you want a larger ported 12" sub, the Outlaw Audio LFM-1 Plus or HSU VTF-2 MK4. They'll dig a little deeper and have more SPL than the SVS SB12. Outlaw sometimes has sales for Black Friday/Cyber Monday. So you might check the owners thread here around that time if you didn't get a sub yet.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm looking at the hsu, is it a better value than the asw10 for the money

Yes. These Internet direct vendors generally offer equal or better value to traditional brick and mortar store subs, even when those B&M subs are significantly discounted.

Thanks again looks like I will be going with the hsu. Have you heard about any issues with the reliability? I've read a couple threads with posts regarding such. Is this something I should be worried about?

When you add the sub to your cart, you will see an option to extend the warranty for an additional 3 years on the amp (electronics). For the VTF-2 MK 4 the 3 additional years cost $65. Something to think about.

The HSU subs have a good reputation for reliability.

I would almost certainly spring for the extra $65 for the additional 3 years coverage of the amp on the HSU, YMMV. Look what happened at ED. Their amp issues pretty much put them out of business.

I actually just read that outlaw usually has a Black Friday sale. Now in looking at the lfm ex 1. I don't mean to be indecisive but it seems like if this goes on sale I would get more bang for my buck. I'm sorry to be a bother again but does anyone gave any opinions I the quality/experience/reliability of this sub ?

Thanks Again!

It's a good sub. I have one. If they go on sale, you won't do better for your money.

Looks like hsu started their Black Friday sale.

Does anyone know if outlaw will be having one too?

Hsu has the vtf3 for about 800 shipped, I'm hoping I can score the outlaw ex for much much less, when does outlaw usually announce their sale?

Speculation by serious individuals says that the LFM-1EX will be $549 including shipping, however, you are too late to register for the Black Friday preview.

That seems a tad optimistic. I think that might just be wishful thinking.

For the sake of our members, I hope the $549 turns out to be true, (even though I think $599 is more likely).
