Need 2 New Subwoofers?

I have 2 each, M&K VX-1250 subs in my 7.2 HT. One of the woofers just blew. I know I will never find the replacement woofer anywhere as it is too old. Can anyone suggest 2 woofers only that I could buy that would work in my 2 existing M&K cabinets and with the M&K amps (250 Watt each). These are 12" woofers and the cabinets are NOT ported. I would like something that gets down to 20hz or below if possible. Money is tight right now for this disabled retiree so buying 2 new subwoofers is out of the question. Thank you for your help, your time, advice, and sharing of your knowledge will be greatly appreciated. Have a wonderful day.

A quick search yielded this:
VX1250 subwoofer: 25 inches high x 22 inches wide x 19 inches deep

which yields a vb of about 4.5 cu ft.

This thread:

says they are 8 ohm. I'm not sure what 12 would be suitable to 4.5ft cu and is 8 ohm but maybe someone else has an idea.

Try the Dayton Ref 12" HO or HF, 8-Ohm.

Thanks so ;much guys for the replies.

I guess I am going to have to build 2 new subs from the ground up as I do not like the specs for the drivers you have suggested. I want 2 subs the will fill my 17x17x18H room with tight clean bass down to 18-20hz. Can anyone suggest where I would but the parts and cabinets. I would like the cabinets pre-assembled if possible, if not at least pre-cut and ready to glue/screw. Any recommendation on where to get both the parts and cabinets would be GREATLY appreciated. I don't need the cabinets finished, just pre-cut or assembled. Also what do you think 2 subs like this will cost me.

I also don't mind buying used equipment because this would be the only other way that I could afford a sub(s) of the quality I am looking for. Thanks so much for your help, suggestions, and the sharing of your knowledge with me. Have a wonderful evening.

are you sure that you understand the specs? if you know and/or can measure the resistance on the good driver and can measure the dimensions of the cab, a replacement can pretty much be found.

if you want something new for low cost, there are many flatpack subs on the way from erich at diysoundgroup.com. he is updating everything right now, so give it a little time.
